style journal : the great balancing act.
Posted on January 3rd, 2011
As the clock struck midnight, I felt a wave of relief and excitement at the same time. The energy of New Years was electrifying.. and then I wanted to pass out. :P Of all the lessons to be learned, balance has always been a challenge for me, and I feel that 2011 will be a year that I master it just a bit more than before. Nothing comes without perseverance and hard work.. I am definitely not naïve about the trek ahead. And as my favorite author once wrote in one of my favorite books ever:
On and on you will hike, And I know you’ll hike far and face up to your problems whatever they are. You’ll get mixed up of course, as you already know. You’ll get mixed up with many strange birds as you go.
So be sure when you step. Step with care and great tact. And remember that Life’s a great balancing act. Just never forget to be dexterous and deft. And never mix up your right foot with your left.
Will you succeed? Yes you will indeed!

I have re-read Oh The Places You’ll Go! at least fifty times since my elementary school days.. it is my guide, my pick-me-up and my very own cheering squad, all wrapped up into one.
