the power of brand ambassadors.

[[ photo: louis vuitton/annie leibovitz via WWD ]] Its fascinating what an ambassador can do for a brand. I’m all about analyzing how a highly strategic annual plan, successful ad/PR campaigns.. how one video can shed new light on a brand. WWD announced a few months ago that Jolie would pose for Louis Vuitton’s “Core Values” ad campaign. The video below was released not too long ago and sheds much more light on why Jolie was chosen to represent the brand in this way. She opened up about her personal experience: her visits to Cambodia, the story of finding her son and why she is drawn to the simple life, a life of appreciation. the fashion world unites for japan.

I also find beauty in how the world has come together to assist those who are in need. Countries, companies, churches, non-profit organizations and individuals have made large contributions to relief organizations including the American Red Cross, Save the Children, UNICEF and Doctors Without Borders. The fashion industry has banded together in bringing about awareness and fundraising for aid relief as well: Tadashi Yanai, president of Uniqlo, gave $12.2 million. Uniqlo donated $4.9 million in corporate funds as well as $8.6 million…

fashion branding : the must-have of the season.

Having a blog has become the norm, and even an expectation in some industries (like fashion, it seems). Many people use blogs as online journals, to keep track of their lives. Others record their inspirations, both in words and images. Blogs continue to serve as a collection of thoughts, ideas and experiences. Just as people use blogs to compile their feelings and going-ons, more and more brands have started to embrace blogs, utilizing them as an extension of their brand image and creating a personality that people can relate to, instead of just offering clothes. OscarPRGirl, the PR “girl” at Oscar de la Renta, has become quite the industry favorite and leader. OscarPRGirl and her team have (within a few seasons) resurrected the brand…
